Mechanical Design Engineering – Piping
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct necessary fieldwork inclusive of review of current systems, locate tie-ins points and
measurement.
Prepare piping design sketches as required by drafting personnel.
Check piping drawings developed by drafting personnel.
Complete isometric drawings and piping layout as needed.
Ensure to complete piping module and detailed drawings as necessary.
Review on project timelines related piping department
ISO System implementation and updation
SAP material data base and its updation, SAP Implementation
Preparation of piping Bill of Quantity with weights
Standardisation of piping department
Civil, Architecture & Structural Drawing Review
Vendor/Supplier drawings review
Stress Analysis If required
BOQ Insulation, Piping
Budget/Costing support
B/O Final specs
BOQ – Insulation, Cladding
As built drawing & BOQ
Interpret and administer various Pipe Material and options.

- Equipment Layout drawings, skid layout drawings
- Equipment foundation Layout drawings
- Pipe routing & G.A of piping
- Providing vessel orientation drawings
- Pipe fittings, valves welding Module drawings
- Standard drawings for commonly used assemblies, pipe fittings
- 3 – D models of piping , layouts
- Civil, Architecture & Structural Drawing Review
- Vendor/Supplier drawings review
- Pipe support drawing
- Site tracing of piping systems and preparation of as-built drawings
Education & Experience
- B.E Mechanical/Chemical with 4-6 years of experience in EPC (Project Based) companies
for Breweries, Fruit processing, Beverage, Pharma. - Knowledge of Plant 3D is must.
Knowledge/Skills
• Sound knowledge of Auto CAD 2D and 3D software (solid edge preferred)
• Sound knowledge of standards and codes like ASME, U-stamp, EN
• Knowledge of SS material
• Ability to transfer, display and manipulate your work using Microsoft Office and other programmes
• Organisation and time management to complete work to project deadlines
• A flexible approach to decision making
• Spatial and design skills to be able to visualise projects in 2D and 3D
• Problem solving, creativity and innovation in order to come up with solutions to design problems
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in order to design in line with industry standard
• Ability to work well independently and in a team
